Hello my friends! Today I've got a special offer for you! As you might know, I'm planning to open my own Etsy-Shop, and I thought that along with my crocheted items I could also offer at least one pattern for sale - but please don't worry: of course the free patterns you find on my blog will always stay free, and there will also be more free patterns here in the future, and some for sale in my shop.
But now back to my offer: Before publishing the pattern, I'd like to ask one (or two) of you to be the first tester of this new Star-Mandala, the perfect decoration for the coming Christmas season:
As this is gonna be a pattern for sale, I want it to be absolutely flawless and easy to understand. I'm thinking about the following:
- If you're interested in testing this pattern, please leave a comment here.
- I'll pick one (or two) of you and send you the written pattern with lots of pictures as a PDF in an e-mail.
- You'll try to crochet the Mandala and give me feedback about the pattern, i.e. if you find any mistakes or where you think the instructions should be clearer.
- I'll make corrections if necessary and send you back the final version for you to keep.
- Another bonus for you: I allow you to share a free copy of the final pattern as a giveaway for one of your readers!
Sounds good? It's actually a win-win situation for both of us: I'll get a free revision for my pattern and a free promotion for my shop, when you blog about it. You'll get a pattern for free, plus a giveaway for your readers, plus a mention of your giveaway/blog here on my site!
So, how do I decide who gets the pattern to test? I'd love to have a tester who's experienced in both reading AND writing patterns (for a better feedback). You should be able to make the pattern and let me know your thoughts within one week. You should have your own blog and be willing to write a post in which you show your finished Star-Mandala and offer one copy of the pattern as a giveaway, along with a link-back to my blog/shop. How you handle the giveaway (random generator, quiz, or secret giveaway) is completely up to you!
I'm also thinking about giving this pattern to a second tester, who'd consider herself as a beginning crocheter (in this case, you don't have to have any experience in pattern-designing/writing, of course). However, you should have a blog and be willing to promote this pattern as explained above.
The Star-Mandala in the typical Christmas colors: green, red and white |
So, what do you say? Are you in? :)
If
you've got further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll pick
my tester within a week and contact her/them via e-mail (please make
sure you leave the address of your blog in your comment as well, if it's
not visible from your profile!).
I'm looking forward to your comments, have a great week everyone!

Dagmar
Hello Barbara! Yes, I'd love to test this pattern and give you a feedback. I do not have any experience at all about writing patterns, so I'd be a begginer crocheter. My blog's adress is http://empezinhosdelas.blogspot.pt/ and my e-mail is pes.de.las@gmail.com. Hope to hear from you. Andreia
ReplyDeleteHello there, I'd like to volunteer to test your pattern. I am fairly new to writing patterns so only a little experience but can crochet fairly well and am used to following both written patterns and charts. Of course it would be no problem for me to promote and link on my blog at www.betsymakes.blogspot.co.uk Good luck with your Etsy shop venture, Sam (email: betsymakes@gmail.com) PS I love the star mandala in the christmassy colours :o)
ReplyDeleteLovely Mandala, and congrats for your new shop :-)
ReplyDeleteHere i am! Youre tester! I love de stars. See my blog en my granny star blanket.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara,
ReplyDeleteI would like to test your pattern as an experienced crocheter. It is not difficult for me to find out a pattern from a photo or example. I think I can help you giving you feedback. My e-mail address is: goldenneedles.agujasdeoro@gmail.com My name is Gaby.

ReplyDeleteWhat good of you to start your own shop. I wish you good luck with the sale.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous star-mandala you have designed and made. They are beautiful in both color pallets.
I would feel honored to test your mandala pattern and give you feedback to refine your pattern.
I also would like to place a promotion for your mandala pattern on my blog. It can inspire my readers and other bloggers to buy your pattern.
Hopefully your mandala pattern will become a great succes.

ReplyDeleteHi Barbara :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to test this for you!! If you are still looking for testers - feel free to contact me :) Here is my blog http://www.oombawka.blogspot.ca and you can email me directly at oombawkadesign (at) gmail (dot) com
Love mandalas!!

Oooh, I wish I had the time to help. That mandala is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI would love to test your pattern! I always find mistakes in printed leaflets, which I always find so annoying! I've been crocheting for over 20 years now and have written a couple of my own patterns, but I never published them. I don't have a crochet blog with a lot of traffic, but I do have an Etsy shop where I sell a lot of my crochet items :)
ReplyDelete-Becca
I found your lovely blog today. I've tried your spring mandala and was able to follow the pattern. ( I wasn't sure about Us or Uk stitches) I'm a beginner in crochet. I was always busy making dollhouses and quilts. But I love to crochet and I should like to try your pattern.
ReplyDeleteMy blog: http://rietjespoppenhuis.blogspot.com Sorry it's in dutch.
It's beautiful Barbara! Good look on the testing. :-)
ReplyDeleteI would love to test if you still are looking for someone. I am a regular tester for quite a few designers and would like to give this a try. Thank You.
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous! I would love the opportunity to test for you. I have a simple page that is still growing. I do test "as needed" for 3 designers. www.facebook.com/simplywithlove.
ReplyDeleteIf you're still interested, I could test. I'm an experienced crocheter, and have some of my own patterns. My facebook page is: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Craft-Cove/. I also have websites and a blog
ReplyDeleteso would love to test these. Thank you

I'm not sure if you still need testers, but I would love to help! I am an intermediate crocheter, so I notice when patterns need clarity pretty quickly. I don't just "automatically get it" (like my experienced mom, haha!), and I've helped a few people with their Etsy crochet patterns already! Let me know if you're interested in my help. :)
ReplyDeletePlease respond to -this- comment so I'll be notified via e-mail! Thanks.
DeleteI would like to test it too!!!
ReplyDeleteUpdate from the author: it's already up in her shop and she needs no more testers! Lovely pattern.
ReplyDeletei'm so interested... Can you send me janainaholo@gmail.com? You are so talent!

ReplyDeletePaula
I am not a beginner crochet person, but I would not call myself advanced. I have a friend who is advanced and we crochet together. I am, however, from Texas, and would love to do this pattern in red/white/blue and also in the browns and golds. I'm doing my house in western.
ReplyDeletehi maybe i am very late , anyway i wanted to say it is beautifull I will like to try it
