Beyond the Square: Motif #140

Motif #140

Category: Unusual Shapes

Progress: 51 of 100+

Notes:
This is another motif from the "unusual shapes" section in the book, and it's probably the most unusual motif of them all, because it's the only 3-dimensional one. It was very easy to make, but honestly: I have no idea what to make with a motif like this :)

  1. How big is it? Maybe you can use it in your hair or for a little girl in her hair if it's not to big something like that.

  4. Hello Barbara
Now lets see....as you could make it whatever size you want depending on gauge then a small version with a bead in the centre or button or....could become a brooch. It could also be used as a bobble at the end of a curtain tie back or a sun catcher ornament. It could be used to make a key ring.
Definitely agree with Stel's comment here if made in a glittery yarn it would look good on the Christmas Tree.

I've now joined The Crochet Boulevard too...had to!

Can I invite you to pop by my blog and follow me if you like what you see!

  7. I love it! Enjoying reading all about your challenge just wish I had a bit more time to do it myself.

Like Debi said it does look slightly like a bath puff, maybe make it bigger and add a chain loop for hanging?

Can't wait for your next motif x

  8. You made a full sized one well done Barbara, I got a bit fed up with all those increases and just made mine small :)

  9. Very pretty! My first thought was a rose, so I agree with Amanda; put a button in the center and a pin on the back to make it a brooch. But I like the other ideas too.

  10. Very pretty! I am actually working on a review now for this book, so it is nice to see how you are making out with the patterns. Would you mind if I linked to your challenge in my review?
